The Sweetest Harvest, day 7 – The Gentle Cycle

I have an aqua blue knit dress straight from the sale rack at Marshall’s that I kinda like.  I’ve worn it out on a date with my sweetheart once.  It’s rayon with a touch of stretch and is it ever comfortable!!  A few hugs from a couple messy kids later, into the laundry basket it went.  (It’s been there a while….because we all know our own laundry stays at the bottom.)

I started a load recently and almost threw it in…but I remembered how much I really adore this dress so I checked the tag.

Gentle cycle/Tumble dry low.

Back in the basket. I already had a machine full of jeans and boxers and worn out pajamas.

The dress needs special care, not a hurried wash-over.

The journey continues~

…For this Lord’s day, I’m sharing day 7 over at The Better Mom.  So thankful for that community of people, of mothers, who know their right now role impacts the future forever.

Would love for you to drop by and continue the journey with me…

The Sweetest Harvest, day 7 – Gentle Cycle

The Better Mom

  1. I absolutely love this post. Thank you so much for this series. My 15 month old is like a stubborn two year old… I def wasn’t expecting her behaviors to start so early. This remind me to handle with care-especially because she’s younger. I want to foster her independence and not stifle it
    Thank you!

  2. My eyes are a little damp after reading this today on Better Mom. I am looking forward to reading through this series this afternoon as a means of rest for me today. The words you used were absolutely confirming to my heart and soul of what the Lord has been showing me through His word and the Spirit! Thank you for sharing!

  3. I absolutely love this gentle reminder! I read this through The Better Mom and then came to find your blog. Thank you for speaking to my mommy heart today. You have given me a reminder of how I want to mother my children. Time to slow down in this busy season and get back to mothering gently. I look forward to reading through your previous and future posts!

  4. Thank you for this reminder. It can be challenging to maintain at all times a constant, gentle tone during continual correction and guidance to our little ones, especially at the end of the day. Only God can provide the energy and patience that this task demands, but what a sweet reward to see patience and gentleness mature in our children as we try our best to model them. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  5. Saw your blog at better mom tonigjt. This is the post I needed today. Been struggling with my reactions this weekend with my twin 3 year olds. Thankful for Gods grace that He forgives and that I have a new day to start on the Gentle cycle again tomorrow! It is so easy to get caught up in what comes next that we forget what we are trying to acomplish and who we want our children to be. I need more of Jesus and so do they. Praying for a big change in this mommy’s heart, that His gentleness would shine through me. Thank you for sharing your heart.

Found you at The Better Mom – just HAD to carve out time to read through this whole series. So good-like honey-I wanted to lap up every last drop of goodness! And now I’m a subscriber so I don’t miss anything else! Thank you so much, I think Day 7 the Gentle Cycle has been my favorite, although I’ve gleaned something from each day. Bless you and your convictions and your sharing them with us!
